''Brighten someone's day this week with a kind donation."
What a wonderful Winter Woollies Day we had on Wednesday! Our students came dressed in their favourite winter clothes, including beanies, scarves, oodies, pyjamas, flannels and cosy winter gear, all while supporting a great cause.
Students were invited to make a gold coin donation to wear their winter clothes for the day, with all money raised going towards purchasing blankets for people in need. It was wonderful to see our students showing that a small act of generosity can make a big difference to someone else.
As part of the day, some students also took part in our Colouring-In Beanie Competition. Students decorated their beanies and added anact of kindness they could do for others. It was fantastic to see the thoughtful and creative ways our students showed how they can spread kindness throughout our school and wider community.
A huge thank you to our wonderful Mini Vinnies and Social Justice Leaders, who planned and organised the initiative. Their leadership, compassion and commitment to helping others is something we are incredibly proud of.
Thank you to all our families for supporting Winter Woollies Day and helping us to warm both bodies and hearts.

On Tuesday our Year 5 students took part in an inspiring Leadership Incursion with Noah from LifeChanger. The session focused on developing the skills and mindset needed to be positive and responsible leaders within our school and wider community.
Students explored what it means to lead by example, make positive choices, show resilience and encourage others. Through engaging activities and thought-provoking discussions, Noah challenged students to reflect on their own strengths and consider how they can use these to make a difference.
The incursion was also a valuable stepping stone as students begin preparing for their Year 6 leadership opportunities in 2027. The skills and confidence developed through this experience will support them as they prepare to deliver their leadership speeches in Term 4 and consider how they can contribute positively to our school community as future leaders.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our Year 5 students to build their confidence, develop their leadership skills and understand that leadership is not just about having a title, it is about the everyday choices we make and the way we treat others.

Whilst the Year 5's engaged in their incursion, our Year 6 also participated in an engaging and thought-provoking incursion with Paul and Regan from the REACH Foundation, focusing on empathy, change and transition.
The session encouraged students to reflect on the changes they are experiencing as they prepare to move from primary school to secondary school. Through meaningful conversations, activities and shared experiences, students explored how change can bring a range of emotions and the importance of recognising and supporting both themselves and others during times of transition.
A key focus was developing empathy and understanding that everyone responds to change differently. Students were encouraged to consider how they can be supportive friends, communicate openly and seek help when they need it.
The session created a safe space for students to be vulnerable and share some of their own thoughts and fears about moving to high school. A few students bravely opened up about their worries, with some emotional moments and even a few tears. It was incredibly heartwarming to see how our students responded to one another with such empathy, kindness and support. Their willingness to listen, comfort and encourage their peers was a wonderful reflection of the strong relationships and sense of community within our Year 6 cohort.
The incursion provided a valuable opportunity for our Year 6 students to build their confidence, strengthen their relationships and develop strategies to help them navigate the exciting changes ahead as they prepare for the next chapter of their learning journey.
