Book Week 2026

Book Week 2026

This year's CBCA Book Week theme, Symphony of Stories, celebrates the many voices, characters and ideas that come together to create the rich world of children's literature. Just as every instrument contributes to a symphony, every story has something unique to share, inspiring readers to explore new perspectives and develop a lifelong love of reading.

Throughout Book Week and over the following weeks, students will have the opportunity to meet and learn from a range of talented Australian authors and illustrators. Heidi McKinnon will visit our Foundation and Grade 1 students, Ben Wood will work with students in Years 2–5, and Solli Raphael will visit our Year 6 students. These sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for students to hear about the writing process, ask questions and be inspired by the people behind the books they read.

Our annual Book Week Dress-Up Day will be held on Thursday, 27 August

Students are invited to dress as their favourite book character and join us in celebrating the joy of reading and storytelling!

Information about each author visit has been published on Compass. Please log in to view the event details and complete consent and payment by the due date to ensure your child can participate.

We look forward to celebrating another memorable Book Week with our CHPS school community!
