College Captains Report

Hello, we are Louise and Zoe, your 2026 College Captains. We wanted to welcome everyone back to school particularly our new Year 7s as well as any new students, staff and families. We are very excited to see everyone around the school grounds!

The Student Leadership team has also grown a lot this year with a lot of new Year 11/12 members and our new SRC executive Keenya Heerah who will be leading SRC meetings and events. All students are welcome to join SRC and we hope that you consider applying for leadership positions like College Captains in Year 12. If you would like to help out with the SRC run events, Events Teams is also a great option to get involved. You would be helping out with barbeques, bake sales and collecting money for the school.

Already, Macleod College has demonstrated our values of Achieve, Respect, Connect through the Swimming Carnival. We saw many of our Year 12s dress up in group costumes displaying our value of Connect. Everyone participated in events, and many won races which showed the value of Achieve. Finally, everyone showed Respect to their opponents, teachers and most importantly the lifeguards who helped keep everyone safe. We thank everyone for coming along and making this year's Swimming Carnival a fun one.

To our new Year 7s, we hope you had a smooth introduction to high school and that you enjoyed meeting your Year 12 buddies. We all enjoyed meeting you, and working with you to solve the paper activity. We look forward to seeing you again and continuing doing our buddy scrapbooks, which will become a collection of memories at the end of the year.

Lastly to the Year 12s, we wish you all the best of luck in our final year. We know how stressful this year will get, but we are grateful to go through it with you. We are an amazing year, and we will achieve great things, but we are especially excited to have fun events throughout the year like the formal, which will also be with our Year 11s, Valedictory dinner, and finally Graduation. Enjoy your last year of school!
