DIOCESAN WINTER TRIALS
We have had an incredible response to our call for expressions of interest for the upcoming Diocesan Winter Trials! It is wonderful to see so many students eager to represent our school and their Diocese. Due to the high volume of interest and a limited number of positions, we will be conducting selection trials at school for those who nominated.
SPORT INFORMATION ON COMPASS
Just a reminder that the majority of sporting opportunities are only on the Compass Portal and hence, we strongly recommend that you check your Compass Portal on a regular basis.
NETBALL
The last day for ordering and trying on netball uniforms is Saturday, 21st February, from 9 -11:00 am at the school.
Come to the office door, and Mrs Elliott will be there.
St Nicholas AGM will be held at the Tamworth Hotel on Friday, 20th February at 5 pm.
Netball registrations are due on Friday, 27th February.

- Check your uniform- do you need to get one for your child? Does your current one fit? If not, Mrs Elliott can sell it on your behalf. Last orders will be Saturday, 21st February.
EXTERNAL PROVIDERS OF SPORT SKILLS.
We are fortunate to have representatives from various sports conduct skills sessions throughout the year. We have had NRL sessions, and some grades will have some AFL sessions coming up. We are lucky enough to engage the services of Jay Stone next term, who will continue teaching athletics skills.

The 10 week Nippers & Steppers program is the perfect introduction to Touch Football for our youngest players. Includes fun, skills, games and plenty of smiles.

JUNIOR RUGBY LEAGUE
HOCKEY
Tamworth Hockey Association are again running our FREE Primary and High Schools competitions commencing on Mon 9th March for 3 weeks. The comp will be based on fun and development, there is no cost to participants and games will be from 5-6 pm for Primary and 6-7pm for High School matches. They would love to see all local schools involved, schools are able to register full or partial teams or players can register themselves individually.

2026 Football Season with North Companions FC
Along with providing an opportunity to be in the largest youth club in the region, providing healthy active living and team experiences with friends and family.

2026 Registration Fees :
Registration fees for the 2026 Season have increased due to Football Australia raising player fees ($3 for Juniors and $7 for Seniors). The North Companions committee has approved a small adjustment to help cover the increased costs.
MINIROOS - 5 to 11 years
IMPORTANT for 5 to 11 year Registrations :
The new Playfootball system is not showing the correct Registration Amount, the values below will be what is presented at the checkout when paying.

To celebrate, the Big Bash Schools Challenge is now FREE for programs delivered in Term 1 and Term 2 this year - and we’d love to invite your school to take part.
What is the Big Bash Schools Challenge?
A 4‑week program for Kindergarten to Year 2 students, designed to get kids active while learning through play.

Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund
Applications for SESF scholarships are now open for 2026.
We encourage schools, sporting organisations and families to share this link within their communities.
SESF supports young athletes aged 10 to 18 years old, whose financial circumstances would preclude them from otherwise participating at representative level for their state or Australia at national and international championships.

We love celebrating the achievements of our St Nicholas athletes. If your child or team has competed in a weekend game, gala day, or representative trial, we want to hear about it!
