Year 1: 

A Fantastic Start to the Academic Year!

We are thrilled to report that our Year 1 students have settled into their new classes with remarkable speed and enthusiasm! It has been wonderful to see their bright faces eager to learn and explore all the exciting new topics this academic year has to offer. The classrooms are buzzing with energy, and the children are already demonstrating a fantastic readiness for learning.

In Mathematics, Year 1 has been diving into the fascinating world of 2D shapes. We've been exploring their properties, learning to identify squares, circles, triangles, rectangles, and more. To make learning even more engaging, we had a brilliant time trying to create some of these shapes using our own bodies! It was a very hands-on and memorable way to understand the attributes of each shape.

Our sports lessons have been focusing on developing essential throwing and catching skills. The children have been practising with great determination, improving their hand-eye coordination and teamwork. We've seen some fantastic progress and a lot of happy faces during these sessions. We've included some images below to show just how much fun we've been having! 

We are looking forward to the rest of the year and all the wonderful learning experiences that await our Year 1 students. It's going to be a fantastic journey!

Year 2: A Whirlwind Start to the Year!

It has been an action-packed start to the year for Year 2! We’ve hit the ground running by settling into our new learning space in The Hub and making a splash at our very first swimming carnival. In the classroom, our young mathematicians have been busy masterfully navigating the world of 2D shapes and position, while our scientists are keeping their eyes on the horizon to observe the ever-changing wonders of the sky and land.

History has us playing detective as we hunt for evidence of the past in our present-day world, and our creative spirits are soaring thanks to our bright, colourful Willy the Wimp inspired artworks. It’s safe to say Term 1 is off to a flying start, and we couldn’t be prouder of how everyone is diving into their learning!
