Beginning of Year Mass – Lent 

Last Friday we celebrated mass as a parish school to welcome the 2026 school year. 

A highlight of mass was commissioning our Grade 6 student leaders. Although we were missing a few, it was a wonderful celebration of faith and community. 

 The theme of the mass was ‘Seek Peace and Pursue It!’  

This is our theme for 2026. 

Creator God 

 We pray for your gift of peace.  

We are sorry for the times we have hurt others and for the times we’ve hurt creation.  

Help us to forgive others and to treat people with love, respect and kindness.  

We pray that we may always be hopeful and remember that you love us. May we always be a sign of hope, joy and peace for others.

In a world often marked by complexity, division and constant noise, the biblical call to “Seek peace and pursue it” offers a meaningful and timely invitation for our community. It speaks strongly to the mission of Catholic Education in 2026 and reminds us that peace is not passive. 

Rather than simply hoping for peace, we are called to actively seek it, nurture it and live it out in our words, actions and relationships each day.
