From the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Members of the St Augustine’s College Community,
As we approach the final weeks of Term 2, it is hard to believe how quickly the semester has passed. It has been a term filled with learning, achievement and a wide range of opportunities for students across the College.
Recently, our Year 9 students returned from Camp Jungai, where they engaged in Aboriginal education and connection while building resilience, strengthening friendships, and challenging themselves through new experiences. Our Years 3 and 4 students also participated in their interschool sports day, displaying excellent enthusiasm, participation, and sportsmanship. Alongside this, many students have proudly represented the College at various cross country events throughout the term.
Last week's Senior School Information Evening provided students and families with valuable information regarding future pathways and subject selections. We also recently gathered as a College community for our Reconciliation Mass, welcomed by Uncle Rick Ronan. The Mass provided an important opportunity to reflect on reconciliation, justice, respect and healing, aligned with this year's theme of "All In".
There is still much to look forward to before the end of term. Foundation to Year 4 students will participate in their swimming program, Year 10B students will undertake work experience, Outdoor Education students will attend a range of excursions and our Year 10 students will participate in their Melbourne Urban Camp next week.
The Catholic community was also delighted by the recent announcement of Bishop René Ramírez as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Sandhurst. We keep Bishop René in our prayers as he prepares to lead our diocesan community.
Families are reminded that Semester One reports will be released in Week 10. Reports provide an opportunity to celebrate growth, acknowledge achievements and discuss future learning goals with your child. We will also conclude the semester with our Foundation–Year 4 and Years 5–8 End of Term Assemblies, celebrating the many successes of our students.
As winter settles in, please ensure students are dressed warmly while continuing to adhere to the College Uniform Guidelines. We also ask families to keep children at home when they are unwell to help maintain a healthy learning environment for all.
Thank you to our students, staff and families for your ongoing support throughout another busy and successful term. I wish everyone a positive finish to Semester One and look forward to celebrating our students' achievements in the coming weeks.
