School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Introducing School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)
We are excited to share that our school has begun implementing School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), a whole-school framework that promotes positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement for all students.
SWPBS is an evidence-based approach that helps schools create safe, supportive and inclusive learning environments by clearly teaching behavioural expectations, recognising positive behaviours, and providing consistent responses when challenges arise. Over time, this work will help strengthen our school culture and support all students to be successful learners and positive members of our community.
As part of our SWPBS journey, staff are working together to develop shared expectations, common language, and consistent approaches to behaviour across the school. Families will see a gradual introduction of new systems and processes as this work develops throughout the year.
One change that many families may have already noticed is the introduction of Positive Behaviour Incidents through Compass. These notifications are designed to celebrate and acknowledge students when they demonstrate behaviours that contribute positively to our school community. We encourage families to take the opportunity to celebrate these successes with their child when they receive a notification.
We look forward to sharing more information about our school expectations and SWPBS initiatives as they are developed.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to build a positive, respectful and inclusive school community for all students.
