SPOTLIGHT

YEAR 6

Last week was a memorable and special week for our Year 6 students! We had a wonderful time celebrating our final Book Week, with everyone getting into the spirit with their fantastic costumes and a great atmosphere. We had chipmunks, builders, cowboys, transformers, cookie monsters, Shrek characters, princesses, dwarfs, teletubbies, piranhas, bananas, Bingo, Bluey, and one very large “Henn”.

This past weekend, we were also so proud to see our students celebrate their Confirmation sacrament. Confirmation is a significant moment in their faith journey, as it marks a deepening of their relationship with God and a strengthening of the Holy Spirit within them. Before the big day, the Year 6 students had a special Confirmation Retreat at school. They were assisted by some wonderful McCarthy Catholic College Year 11 students and took part in a range of activities designed to strengthen their understanding of what Confirmation means. It was a fantastic day of reflection and learning. The students also created beautiful artworks of their chosen Saints, which were proudly on display for the whole school to admire. Our two Confirmation masses were very special occasions, and we're incredibly grateful to Bishop Peter Murphy for administering this sacrament and to Mrs Dunst for all of her hard work and organisation in making the day so meaningful for our students and their families.
