GENERAL NEWS

UNIFORM

Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct uniform to school each day. Please note that the school tie and hat is a compulsory part of the winter uniform.

We will be keeping an eye on the weather temperatures and will be sure to let parents know when the changeover from winter uniform to summer uniform occurs. In the meantime, thankyou for your assistance in ensuring that the children are wearing their winter uniform correctly on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

MOBILE PHONES

If bringing a mobile phone to school, all students must hand it into the office at the beginning of the day. Mobile phones are stored securely and students can collect them when dismissed from class. If your child is wearing a smart watch to school, the 'school mode' must be activated during school hours.

MATHS INFORMATION NIGHT - WRAP UP

Thank you to Mrs Helen Rowsell and the teaching staff that came to present workshops and support our Maths Information Night on Tuesday. We had a terrific turn out of parents and will be using their feedback to assist in planning future Maths events. It was wonderful to see the parents experiencing what learning is like for their children, by becoming the learners themselves. If you attended the night and have not completed the feedback survey, please take a few minutes to fill it in, as your thoughts are valued and will assist us in future planning.

KINDERGARTEN 2026

We look forward to welcoming of our Kindergarten 2026 parents and carers to an information evening.

The evening will commence promptly at 6.00pm on Wednesday 3 September.  Enter through the Carthage Street main gates.  Staff will be at the main gate to welcome you.

Both new and current families are strongly encouraged to attend.

VERITAS

Our Veritas Awards stem from our school motto - ‘Veritas’ - meaning truth. The Veritas Award is awarded to students who have been consistently displaying citizenship, leadership and/or Christian Living. Students receiving a Veritas Award are those students who have displayed our ‘Rules for Living’ in their everyday interactions. We announce our Veritas award recipients at Friday morning assemblies every fortnight. Congratulations to: Tyson Arney, Athan Thinesh, Toby Brown, Logan Healy, Archie Clein, Arveen Kaur, Max Edmonds, Fletcher O'Connor, Arie Ramirez, Darcy Lane, Riley Ferguson, Remy Wilson, Charlotte Baynton, Yohan Roy, Harper Henry,  Lucy Milne,  Sophia Shanahan and Sara Scott.

SUPERVISION OF STUDENTS

Supervision of students does not begin until 8.15am each day.

St Nicholas School gates will not be open until the arrival of the first school bus at approximately 8.10am. It is not appropriate for children to be at school before this time with no supervision.

If your child/ren require care before 8.15am we recommend you contact Esteem Kids Before and After School Care,  which operate in the grounds of St Nicholas School.
