"BOOK AN ADVENTURE"
Last week was absolutely amazing.
THANK YOU
Thank you to the school community for supporting the 2025 Book Fair and in turn supporting your child's reading journey.
A huge thanks to my wonderful helpers, Marg, Sue, Mel and Merrilyn and the Library Leaders who gave up their break time to ensure the fair ran smoothly. Thank you also for the parent/student donations of wonderful books to our library.
The Book Parade, despite the weather, turned out to be a huge success.
Thank you again to our parents, students and carers for the lengths you went to in connecting with your book character and embracing the true meaning of Book Week. The costumes were truly outstanding.
Book orders should begin to arrive next week.

Last week the awards were announced with the following winners:
St Nicholas School students also had the opportunity to cast their vote on a school level
It was unanimous: "The Truck Cat" was a standout.
My personal pick, "How To Move a Zoo" received an Honour mention, which was lucky as teacher librarians, I mean elephants, have a long memory.
CONGRATULATIONS : 442 students have now completed the 2025 Premier's Reading Challenge.
Let's keep it going!
The Challenge is steadily drawing to a close for 2025. End validation date is next Friday, 5 September 2025.
If your child has been issued a note regarding The Challenge please respond accordingly by the due date.
Every Friday we pack up the technology and enjoy chatting to each other, reading, playing games, colouring in and jigsaws. Does anyone have any jigsaws they would like to donate to the library please?
Please note a LIBRARY BAG is the first item on your child's equipment list for the year.
Thank you for ensuring your child has a library bag. I have some spares and will issue these to students next week who have not yet presented with a bag.
LIBRARY BAGS MATTER... Not just some of the time but all of the time.
No food or drink on my books.
Food and drink are for the chooks.
Library bags keep ‘em clean.
Books are cool don’t treat ‘em mean.
Bring your bag every time.
Fill it up and get in line.
Have it scanned and scoot on out.
LIBRARY BAGS
We all shout.

premise that they have

Ask your child about the bookmark which provides home access for World eBooks and World Book online.
If you have not logged on and had a browse around, sit down with your child and ask them about it. I'm sure all primary-aged students will be able to show you some of the features.
