FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Term 3 Week 6
Over the weekend, many of our students from Year 6 at St Nicholas School along with students from the wider St Nicholas Parish received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation is the final sacrament of initiation into the Catholic Church. It is where our one takes the name of a Saint to guide them in their faith journey and are sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit by the Bishop. There were 77 candidates being Confirmed over two Masses, one Saturday Night and one Sunday morning.
I would like to thank Mrs Renee Dunst for all her coordinating and planning of the Masses. I would also like to thank our Year 6 class teachers for their support of the students and for guiding them through the Confirmation preparation. A big thank you also to Fr Chris for his constant support of our school, students and their families. As always, our St Nicholas School students were a credit to the school and their families. They conducted themselves with reverence and maturity and we are so very proud of them.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Bishop Murphy not only for Confirming our students over two Masses, but also spending the morning with the candidates on Friday and engaging with them so positively and meaningfully about their faith.
REMINDER TO COMPLETE SCHOOL SURVEY
The annual satisfaction survey of parents, students and staff is currently being conducted on behalf of all Catholic schools in the Diocese this term. The surveys are designed to gather feedback from parents, staff and students about St Nicholas School and will be used to inform school improvement. Responses are confidential, and individuals can not be identified.
If you have not already done so, we would appreciate you feedback.
