A Message from the Principal

Dear Families and Friends

By the end of a busy term, most of us are ready for a pause.

Students are tired, families have been juggling full schedules, and staff have given a great deal of themselves. It is in this moment — when we are ready to take a breath — that Easter meets us.

At its heart, Easter is a story of hope.

For Christians, it is the story of Jesus’ death and resurrection — a reminder that even in the midst of challenge, uncertainty or disappointment, new life is possible. That what feels heavy or unfinished does not have the final word. The resurrection speaks quietly but powerfully of renewal, of fresh beginnings, and of the courage to begin again.

For our young people, this message is deeply relevant. Their lives are full — learning, friendships, expectations and challenges — and at times this can feel overwhelming. Easter offers a simple reassurance: growth often comes through the more difficult moments, and there is always the opportunity to begin again.

Throughout this term, I have seen this lived out across our College. In the way students have approached their learning, supported one another, and shown quiet resilience when things have not been easy. These everyday moments reflect the values we hold close — peace, justice and compassion — and the spirit of welcome that sits at the heart of our College.

As we move into the Easter break, I hope this time offers space for rest and renewal for our students, staff and families. It is also an invitation to pause and reflect on the deeper meaning of Easter, and the hope it brings to our lives. As a Catholic community, I encourage families, where possible, to take the opportunity to gather for Easter Mass and share in this important celebration of our faith. Details of Easter Mass times at St Francis Xavier Parish, Armadale, can be found within this newsletter.

We look forward to welcoming students back to the College on Tuesday 21 April, ready for a new term of learning and growth. Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place on Tuesday 28 April, providing an important opportunity to continue the partnership between home and school in supporting each student.

I wish you and your families a safe and happy Easter!
