Science

This term years 3, 4, 5 and 6 students are doing Science.
In our first lesson we focussed on the important scientific skill of observation and discussed how it is a key step in the scientific process and learning.
Students used ‘magic windows’ and magnifying glasses to take a closer look at objects in the garden, aiming to observe something they may not have noticed before.
Students then observed their thumb, taking note of all of the features of a thumb. They recorded their observations with a labelled drawing.
Years 3 and 4
This week students began an investigation with magnets. They discussed what they already know about magnets, made predictions and tested out some of their ideas.
Years 5 and 6
Students are delving deeper into force and motion. This week they were challenged to walk 8m in exactly 8 seconds. The further challenge was to try to do this by walking at a constant speed.
