Performing Arts & Music

Juniors

The Junior students have been enjoying jumping into Drama learning this term in Performing Arts!

We have been learning all about mime. We have mimed our holiday activities and have been practicing being brave and improvising when it comes to having a go and performing.

The children have loved playing 'pass the mime'. A whole class game where all children act out the same mime, adding their own personal touch. I'm very proud of all students for giving it a go.

The junior students are so expressive! We have also been practising using our faces and bodies to exaggerate movements and show different emotions. Please see the photos of the Grade 2s showing some if these different emotions with their faces! Happy, shocked, sad and angry - fabulous!

Seniors

It has been a great start to Term 2 in Senior Performing Arts. As part of any Performing Arts program, instrumental music is a key part of the students' learning. The grade 5/6 students are learning about all the subtlety and nuance of the Ukelele!

We aiming to learn 4 chords and competently move between each. Once we know this we have access to THOUSANDS of songs which is always a good thing to know. We are currently learning C, G, F and Am.
