Spiritual Realm

Focus on setting your mind on things above - Authored by Raquel Elias

"Great Lent is a sacred pilgrimage of renewal, repentance, prayer, and trust in God’s mercy, drawing us deeper into the mystery of His love. It is a time of grace, calling us to reflect on Christ’s Passion, strengthen our faith, and prepare our hearts for His Resurrection. As we enter this Season, we are reminded that suffering is never in vain. Through His Passion and Cross, Jesus transforms sorrow into redemption, death into life, and despair into hope".

Ash Monday Mass- 3rd March 2025

The MCHF community gathered to celebrate Ash Monday Mass, marking the beginning of the Great Season of Lent. May this time be one of reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth, filled with God’s grace and blessings.

Thank you to Isabella Ishak (Yr. 11, Student Photographer Mentor) and Peter Lichaa (Yr. 9 Student Photographer) for capturing these images during Divine Liturgy.

K-2 Receives Ashes

Our Kindergarten, Year 1, and Year 2 students began their Lenten journey by receiving ashes on Ash Monday. They joined in a special prayer at the OLOL Co-Cathedral with our Chaplain, Fr. Charbel Dib, marking their first step in this sacred season of reflection and renewal.

Feeding The Homeless

On Saturdays, Students of MCHF embrace Christ's call to put faith into action through serving food and beverages to the less fortunate. May God bless these selfless Students.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink.....’ ~Matthew 25:35-37

Primary Faith Formation

Years 3-6 Students participated in the first Primary Faith Formation of the year. They Reflected on the Sunday of the Righteous and Just in our Maronite Liturgical calendar. Students were given insight into why Catholics ask the intercession of the Saints and discussed the importance of the Saints’ prayers in our lives. Students took home a card of a Saint and were invited to gift it to a loved one. May we continue to ask for the intercession of all the Holy Angels and Saints in our lives.

Understanding the Gospel

5 Ruby and Kindergarten Rose met their buddy. They had so much fun reading, getting to know each other and understanding this Sundays Gospel.

Yr. 12 Aged Care Visit

Our Year 12 students had a heart warming visit to the residents at Our Lady of Mercy Place during the second week of Lent. The Students helped decorate Easter cookies, reflected on the experience, describing it as a powerful reminder to acknowledge every life and memory, and the importance of connecting with others:

"Visiting those in the Aged care is beyond an act of kindness, it serves us as a reminder that every life and every memory deserves to be acknowledged. Interacting with the elderly humbles us and reminds us that life is too short, so cherish every moment and make memories."   - Joseph Ibrahim

Year 6 St. Joseph Activity

In commemoration of the Feast day of St. Joseph, Year 6 reflected on his life as the foster father of Jesus and protector of the Holy Family. After highlighting the many virtues attributed to him, Year 6 chose one virtue that they want to demonstrate daily and wrote this on a paddle pop stick. This was then used to build a church, in remembrance of St Joseph as a carpenter. May St Joseph, always intercede for us!

Container of Donations for Lebanon

A sincere thank you to all those who donated so generously to our Lebanon Container appeal. We have received innumerable generous donations. The items are now all packed and ready to be shipped late March. It will take around three months to arrive to the Lebanon port. From there, the container will be taken to our convent at Ebrine, where the Sisters will unpack the items, sort through them, and distribute to those in need throughout all our schools in Lebanon.

Lenten Mass: 14th March 2025

During the Lenten season, the MCHF college community united for Mass, embracing a time of prayer and reflection. The choir’s beautiful hymns and music enriched the solemnity of the moment, inspiring the community to strengthen their faith and foster unity in this sacred season.

Feast of St. Joseph Mass

We joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph with a special Mass, where our Year 6 students had the honour of serving. As the Father of the Holy Family and a devoted protector, may St. Joseph bless all our families and watch over them with his loving care and protection.

Year 1 Lilac & Gold Palm Sunday Activity

Year 1 Students gained an understanding and appreciation of Palm Sunday through a fun, engaging activity where they cut out palms, which were a small yet significant part of Our Lord's entrance into Jerusalem.

Lenten Devotions

This term, our students were offered the opportunity to deepen their faith by attending different types of Prayers: Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Morning Adoration & Lectio Divina. These spiritual moments provided a chance for reflection, connection, and growth in their Christian faith journey.
