Forming Numbers in Kindy

The students have been working incredibly hard with Ms. Tracey on mastering the skill of forming their numbers correctly. Through engaging activities, hands-on practice, and plenty of encouragement, they are developing strong number-writing skills with confidence and accuracy. Whether tracing, writing independently, or using fun techniques like sand, playdough, or whiteboards, their dedication shines through. What a clever bunch—they should be so proud of their progress!

Bringing Stories to Life

Year 9-11 Drama students participated in a Mime Workshop led by two international Mime artists at Parramatta Riverside Theatre. Throughout the workshop, they had the opportunity to develop their skills in Mime, enhancing their ability to express emotions, tell stories without words, and refine their physical performance techniques. Students engaged in a series of dynamic activities, learning how to use gesture, facial expressions, and movement to captivate an audience. It was an inspiring experience that deepened their understanding of this unique art form and will undoubtedly enrich their future performances on stage.

Inside Kindy White's Classroom

Kindy White are learning about different types of patterns. Today, we explored staircase patterns that increase by ones each time. The students used blocks to create their own staircase designs, identifying the growing pattern in each step. They enjoyed predicting the next step and explaining their thinking to their classmates. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they discovered how patterns can be found in everyday life!

Kindy Red growing patterns

Kindy Red continued to learn about making patterns, focusing on growing patterns using Unifix cubes. They created patterns that increased by one each time, strengthening their counting and sequencing skills. Through hands-on exploration, students developed a deeper understanding of pattern rules and mathematical thinking.

Thermo-mix time!

Year 9 Food Technology students joined forces with the use of new technologies and used the Thermomixers in the kitchen to create healthy date snacks and a tuna pasta bake. Their knowledge on nutrition this term combined their culinary skills have proven to be a success for the whole team!

1 Green in Garden

The students of 1 Green had a fun and hands-on experience creating their garden! 🌼🌿 With the help of their teacher, they learned about planting, soil care, and how to look after their plants. Working together, they carefully planted flowers and greenery, making their school a brighter and greener place. They are excited to watch their garden grow! 💚🌍

Peer reading Groups: 2 Jade & 1 Silver

Peer reading is an exciting opportunity for Year 2 Jade students to support and inspire Year 1 Silver students on their reading journey. By reading together, the older students develop confidence and leadership skills while the younger ones benefit from engaging storytelling and positive role models. This collaborative experience fosters a love of reading, strengthens comprehension, and builds a sense of community between the two year groups.

Yr 7 Field trip

Year 7’s classroom looked a little different today as they participated in a field trip at Watsons Bay to supplement their Landscapes and Landforms unit of work! Students explored the unique coastal environment, examining erosion, weathering, and deposition processes firsthand. Guided by their teachers, they analyzed the impact of natural forces on the sandstone cliffs and beaches while discussing the significance of coastal management strategies. The day also included sketching activities, field sketches, and data collection to deepen their understanding of geographical concepts. It was a fantastic opportunity for hands-on learning in one of Sydney’s most scenic locations!

11 Biology: Experiment Time!

Year 11 Biology students conducted a practical assessment investigating the effect of an enzyme on the rate of a biological reaction under different temperature and pH conditions. Using controlled variables, they measured reaction rates by observing changes such as gas production, substrate breakdown, or colour changes.

This hands-on experiment reinforced their understanding of enzyme activity, the role of optimal conditions, and the impact of denaturation. By analysing their results, students gained valuable insights into enzyme function in biological systems and the importance of maintaining homeostasis.

11 Physics: Testing Heights

Year 11 Physics investigating the relationship between the height of the ramp and the speed of an object down the ramp. This hands-on experiment not only reinforces key physics concepts but also helps develop scientific inquiry skills, data analysis techniques, and an appreciation for experimental accuracy and reliability. The results will allow students to draw conclusions about how gravitational forces influence motion and the principles governing real-world applications, such as roller coasters and road inclines.

Lamington making with Year 2!

Year 2 got their hands sticky and their taste buds tingling while making lamingtons! The excitement was palpable as students dove into the fun, both in the kitchen and at the table!

A huge shoutout to Mrs. Botros. and the amazing food tech team for teaming up with us to make this deliciously memorable experience happen!

PDHPE in Early Stage 1/ Stage 1

Kindy White explored the lesson My Body Tells Me When I Am Unsafe. Students learned about different signals that warn us of danger, such as red lights, ambulance sirens, thunder, and alarms. They also discussed how their bodies give them warning signs, like butterflies in the tummy, feeling hot, anxious, or shaky, and recognising when something doesn’t feel right.

Meanwhile, 1 Lilac investigated leisure activities and how technology has changed over time. Through discussions and comparisons, students gained insight into how play and technology have evolved over generations.

Science in Action- 5 Ruby

Science, 5 Ruby demonstrated fantastic collaboration and teamwork as they designed and created unique puppets using a variety of materials to bring their stories to life. 🎭✨

They then put their creativity to the test by using torches to explore shadow puppetry, discovering how light and shadows work together to create amazing effects! 🔦🎬
