Heroes of Hope was the theme for our Wellbeing Wednesday 5th March. We focused on the GEM Value of Empathy and Social Justice. Students came with their smiles and generous hearts as the donations for our Lenten Appeal kicked in and filled the container which is on it's way to Lebanon.
Our K-6 Students enjoyed activities set up by our GEM Leaders and Secondary Volleyball tournament was a hit. Our Year 12 Students took on the challenge amongst their homerooms to dress up as Heroes, from lifeguards to the Incredibles, they hit the target.
Let us keep this up. Happy Wellbeing Wednesday 🙂

As we start to roll out our Wellbeing Framework, Mr Pearn, our Head of Wellbeing K-12, is leading sessions where students are introduced to each domain: Leadership, Student Voice, Inclusion, Partnership, & Support.
The students had the opportunity to look at what strategies and programs we currently have to support, sustain and excel in each area. From here, the wellbeing team will examine trends and initiate ideas based on student voice.

A huge congratulations to Jude Hashem for being honoured with the Academic Achievement Award!
This prestigious recognition celebrates his outstanding academic performance. The award was presented at a grand ceremony held at the University of Sydney in mid-March. Well done, Jude!
On Wednesday the 26th of March, our Year 9 and 10 Boys had the opportunity to engage in a workshop, run by international Matt Cogin. During these sessions students looked into building buckets of success, effective communication skills and how to build their personal brand, as High Value Men in society.
In the following pastoral sessions, these skills will be further explored, in the aim of improving year group culture. We look forward to welcome back Matt in August as part of the Levelling Up program.

Maronite College of the Holy Family Year 11 LEAD the way to UNSW
On Thursday 27th March, 8 Year 11 students participated in the UNSW Gateway Leaders Program. The day began with a leadership workshop run by UNSW Gateway University Ambassadors called “Who am I as a leader?” Students explored individual values, purpose and passions for social impact and explored the kind of leader they want to become.

The second workshop was run by the incredible Jo O’Reilly who asked our students “How do we communicate with purpose?”. Jo is an accomplished professional speaker, former comedian and has worked extensively with UNSW and the AGSM to develop leadership skills and potential in all kinds of people. Jo’s workshop is a practical and inspiring workshop that explored what it means to have a leadership presence that aligns with your values and purpose. Students were reminded that leaders do not always have to have the loudest voice and that we all have leadership potential.
Student Quotes:
"Jo allowed me to get out of my comfort zone, allowing me to experience these different aspects in the program. I felt very safe and comfortable with my surroundings and UNSW is a beautiful environment"
Answering: what was the most useful aspect of the day? "How to communicate effectively and I’m going to use this when doing my speech for school captain. Thanks Jo."
Maronite College is a UNSW Gateway partner school. For more information about the opportunities and academic support that are offered to students of UNSW Gateway partner schools, visit their website here: UNSW Gateway | Early Admission Pathway | UNSW Sydney

In December last year, the STEM class participated in an online cybersecurity competition. Congratulations to all who participated, particularly the 4 students who received a merit and the one student who received a credit.

Year 10 students today were given an engaging HSC and future choices talk, fantastically delivered by Mrs Kumar. Here, students gained valuable insights into different pathways, from university and apprenticeships, as well as the importance of getting the best results in their studies to various career pathways. The session encouraged them to start thinking about their goals and the steps needed to achieve them for Year 10 and beyond.
We thank Mrs Kumar for her time and imparting her knowledge to the cohort

On Monday 24th March, our Year 9 & 10 STEM students participated in STEM UTS workshops run by Engineers Without Borders. Students enjoyed creating a floating house, and prosthetic leg and looked at disaster coding. This day provided an opportunity to support our College's Strategic Plan of 'developing connections beyond our community'.

A huge congratulations to Jamie Lee Boutros (Year 7), Clara Geagea (Year 8) and Mary Semaan (Year 9) for proudly representing our school in the Rostrum Voice of Youth Competition!
The event was held at Our Lady of Mercy College, Parramatta, where the students were warmly accommodated by Ms Sukkar and the OLMC team.
Each of our students delivered thoughtful, passionate speeches in what was an incredibly tough and competitive field. They did a wonderful job, speaking with confidence and poise beyond their years.
We are so proud of their effort, courage, and hard work in preparing and performing their speeches. What an incredible achievement!

The MCHF Mock Trial Team have defeated Paramatta High School with a solid score of 232- 179 in Round 1 of the Mock Trial competition- Mock Law Society.
We, the prosecution have proven that the defendant had harassed and threatened our client BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT in contravention of Section 474.17 of the Criminal code Act 1995 (Cth).
The MCHF team were so very strong in eliminating any doubt that the defence put forth, especially in their cross examination, and then cemented our case in the closing.
A huge congratulations to our Year 11 and Year 10 students: Chris Saba, Gabriella Massoud, Chloe Rehbane, Jonah Boutros, George Esber, Raphael Semaan, Jason Azar and the research team.
We look forward to Round 2!
