Year 6 Data Investigation

Our Year 6 students have been exploring a rich unit on Data. As part of their learning, each student designed a survey question and collected responses from two different year-level groups. Through this process, they learnt the importance of crafting clear, unbiased questions, accurately recording information using tally marks, and ensuring precision when collecting data.

The next phase involved representing their findings in two different formats. First, students created a hand-drawn side-by-side column graph, carefully measuring and marking increments to display their data clearly. They then transferred their results into a digital pie graph using Google Sheets, applying colour, headings and a key to make their graphs visually engaging and easy to interpret.

To conclude the task, students analysed their results and drew thoughtful conclusions about the differences between the year levels surveyed.

Our Year 6 children did an outstanding job producing detailed, informative and beautifully presented posters. Well done to all!

Year 2 Inquiry

Scenes fron Tiddalik

Our Year Two class demonstrated impressive creativity by translating the traditional Aboriginal story, Tiddalik, into media art. They meticulously crafted scenes using two key materials: pliable plasticine for texture and detail, and assorted shapes and sizes of coloured card for the setting.

By building distinct foreground and background elements, they produced vibrant, detailed representations of the story's characters and dramatic landscapes.

Well done Year Two.
