🛠️ Thank You! Working Bee Success—A HUGE Effort!

A sincere thank you to all the dedicated parents, staff, volounteers and even students, who came out for the Working Bees over the last two weekends! Your incredible commitment has made a massive difference across the school grounds.

We accomplished an enormous amount of work. Here is a snapshot of what we achieved together:

Grounds & Maintenance Completed:

  • Pothole Repairs:  This was a massive effort! We successfully filled potholes across the school carpark and the main asphalt area, using an entire truckload of crushed rock over the weekend, plus a trailer load of asphalt. These essential repairs significantly improve safety and access across our grounds.
  • Access & Drainage: Added temporary drainage and installed a rock footpath to provide safe access to the new bus stop gate.
  • Admin Area: Trimmed vegetation, filled holes, and laid rock at the side entrance to the Admin building.
  • Chicken Pen Upgrade: Repaired the chicken water tap, fixed nesting boxes and external access,  and installed new roosting perches.
  • Garden Tidy: Weeded and mulched the paths in the vegetable garden.
  • General Clean-up: Raked and cleared debris from the west side of the school building and completed a general paper pickup.
  • Vineyard Prep: Began the initial mowing of the vineyard area.

Major Clean-up & Organisation:

  • Shed Organisation: Emptied both sheds, completed a stocktake of tables, removed table tops, and filled a skip with unwanted items that were unable to be sold or gifted. We also gave the sheds a thorough clean.
  • Room Clear-Outs: Final clear-out of the portables (power and water disconnected) and the staff resource room.
  • Resource Storage: Collected and stored usable timber neatly in the shed.
  • Student Support: Helped create the new reward tower for house points.

Additionally we were able to support a number of local groups and community members with the gifting of our second hand tables and furniture.

Next Steps: Upcoming Tasks

While we achieved so much, a few key tasks remain. We will be looking for volunteers to assist with these items in the near future:

  • Completion of the vineyard mowing.
  • Weeding and garden clean up including pruning.
  • Significant pruning in the fire pit area and filling rabbit holes for safety.
  • Building the chicken tunnel to safely move the chickens between their pen and the vineyard.

Thank you again for your amazing support. Your efforts help keep our school safe and looking its best!
