Year 12

Cathy Vo, 12 Red & Ivy Vo, 12 Silver

Cathy and Ivy have had an extremely busy start to 2024. They are both dedicated to their studies and have been praised by their teachers for their diligent work ethic. Cathy and Ivy are friendly and polite students who are liked by both students and teachers alike. These two students shone in their role as Year 12 students at the Swimming Carnival. Despite not participating in any events, they showed true Mercy Spirit by offering to help out with the “Bike and Blend” smoothie stall. Their assistance was invaluable – their willingness to work hard all day was one of the main reasons for the success of the stall. The initiative Cathy and Ivy showed in putting up their hand to assist, displayed service and hospitality, putting others’ enjoyment of the day ahead of their own.

Secondary Youth Leadership Conference

Two weeks ago, the Senior Student Leadership Team had the privilege of attending the Secondary Youth Leadership Conference, held at the Melbourne Convention Center.

Our expectations were completely exceeded, and we could not have predicted how incredibly engaging the day would be. It was so interesting to learn about the different types of leadership and the different types of leaders! All of the speakers had such different and unique perspectives, and advice. It was especially nice to be surrounded by so many other like-minded individuals and have discussions with them about leadership at their school!

Overall, we are all so grateful to have had this opportunity, and cannot wait to start implementing the skills that we learnt around the Academy!
