Academy Swimming Carnival

The House swimming carnival on Tuesday 5 March went very well with great participation, Frayne house winning for the first time in many years.  The new venue of Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre was a great success.

2024 World Acrobatic Championships in Portugal

I'm pleased to share with you some exciting news about Holly Thornton, Year 9 Monash. 

Holly is an elite Acrobatic gymnastics athlete and is a member of a woman's Trio. Holly’s trio have been selected to represent Australia in the ‘2024 World Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships’ in September 2024, an event held every two years.

Holly has had to endure a rigorous and protracted selection process over the past year which included a number of interstate trials, and she has demonstrated exceptional dedication, striving for the chance to represent Australia in the World Championships held in Portugal in September. Out of the many competing hopefuls in Holly’s bracket, only two teams were chosen to represent Australia, one each from Victoria and NSW. This accomplishment is a significant milestone in Holly's journey.

Furthermore, Holly's trio were honoured with the ‘Victorian High Performance Athletes’ of the Year 2023 award at a Victorian Gymnastics ceremony last month held at the San Remo ballroom, a testament to her hard work.
