Year 8
Isabelle Naidoo 8 Blue
Isabelle has had an excellent start to the year. There was no doubt Isabelle would step up to the plate as soon as challenges presented themselves and her hard working, generous nature became apparent very quickly. In the fundraising organizational process her blue sky thinking, and her willingness to institute her ideas made her a driving force behind what is becoming an outstandingly successful can collection, a process that may well advance the cause of recycling at the Academy. Not only does she think outside the box when presented with tasks and challenges but she is also welcoming and inclusive to her peers, encouraging participation and creative solutions. Isabelle's organizational skills have been noted, allowing her to develop her skills as a member of the Year 8 Leadership team and her diligent outlook about her education process ensures she is consistently willing to volunteer.
She is a popular and friendly student who makes those around her feel valued, ensuring their greater and more creative productivity. Isabelle has value added to both the netball and tennis programs at the Academy and has been willing to try out for a number of sports throughout her time at the Academy. She has displayed organizational skills, altruism, compassion and a real willingness to listen to both the staff and her peers.
In an enriching educational experience, the Year 7 students embarked on a captivating tour of the Academy campus, delving into the profound history of the Sisters of Mercy.
With eager minds and curious spirits, they traced the footsteps of these pioneering women who laid the foundation of compassionate education. From the serene corridors to the ornate chapel, every corner of the campus echoed with tales of perseverance, empathy, and empowerment. Through engaging narratives from their teachers, the students gained a deeper understanding of the Sisters' unwavering commitment to social justice and academic excellence. As they immersed themselves in the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy, the students not only learned about our history as a college but also found inspiration to carry forward the values of compassion and service in their own lives.
