A message from our Principal - Mr Brian

Dear School Community,

As we come to the end of another busy and successful term, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their ongoing support and commitment throughout Term 3.  It has been a term filled with learning, achievement, faith and community, and I am proud of all that we have accomplished together. 

One of the highlights of the past fortnight was our Seasons of Creation Stalls, which were a tremendous success.

A special thank you to our Year 6 Misneach Leaders, Year 6 teachers and our Catholic Identity Leader, Mrs Pellegrino, for the significant work that went into planning and running these activities. The stalls encouraged students to think creatively about how materials can be reused and repurposed, while also celebrating and appreciating the gifts of God's creation. The orange juicy icy poles were certainly a crowd favourite and added to the fun atmosphere enjoyed by all. 

In Week 8, we also held our annual Athletics Day, which was another wonderful community event. It was fantastic to see students participate with enthusiasm, determination and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day.  Thank you to Mr Ethan Baxter for his outstanding organisation and leadership, ensuring the carnival ran smoothly from start to finish. Congratulations to Savio House for winning this year's Athletics Carnival and to Goretti House for being awarded the Spirit Trophy for their enthusiasm, encouragement and house pride. 

A reminder that Term 3 concludes tomorrow, Friday 18 September, with students finishing at 2:20pm. We look forward to welcoming students back for the beginning of Term 4 on Tuesday 6 October. 

The school holidays provide a wonderful opportunity for families to slow down, spend quality time together and enjoy a well-earned break after a busy term. For many families, the holidays will also include watching the excitement of the AFL Finals. Whether your team is still in the race for premiership glory or you're simply enjoying the atmosphere of finals football, I hope you have the chance to relax, make some special memories and enjoy everything that this time of year brings. 

Thank you once again for your partnership throughout Term 3. I wish all of our students, staff and families a happy and enjoyable holiday break, and I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for another fantastic term of learning when we return in October. 

District Athletics – Week 1, Term 4 

District Athletics for students in Years 3-6 will take place during Week 1 of Term 4 on the following dates: 

• Tuesday, 6 October – Year 6 
• Wednesday, 7 October – Year 5 
• Thursday, 8 October – Year 4 

• Friday, 9 October – Year 3 

   

Consent forms are now available on PAM, and parents/carers are asked to complete these as soon as possible. 

On their allocated day, students should: 

• Wear their sports uniform 
• Bring a packed lunch 
• Bring a drink bottle 

• Wear and bring a hat 

   

Please note that if a District Athletics day is cancelled due to wet weather, there may not be an opportunity to reschedule. As Friday is the final day of the event, Year 3 students would unfortunately miss out if their day is cancelled due to rain. We are hopeful for fine weather and anticipate that all events will proceed as planned. 

We look forward to students enjoying a fun and successful District Athletics week. 

Summer Uniform and SunSmart Reminder 

With the warmer weather beginning to arrive, students may now start transitioning into their summer uniform. We ask families to ensure that students continue to wear the school uniform correctly and take pride in their presentation as they make the seasonal change. 

This is also a timely reminder to please check that all jumpers, jackets and tracksuit pants are clearly named. At this time of year, we often see an increase in uniform items left on the oval and around the school grounds, with many finding their way to the lost property area. Having clothing clearly labelled makes it much easier for lost items to be returned to their owners. 

As we look ahead to Term 4, now is a great opportunity to locate and check school hats. With sunnier days just around the corner, ensuring hats are ready to go will help students be prepared for outdoor learning and play from the beginning of next term. 

Please note that from the commencement of Term 4, it is compulsory for all students to wear their school hat during recess and lunch breaks. This is an important part of our SunSmart practices and helps protect students during outdoor activities. 

Thank you for your support in helping our students stay organised, take pride in their appearance, and remain safe in the sun.
