Group 20

Term two has continued to be highly motivating and engaging for all students in secondary group 20. Moving forward from first terms learning theme “Me and my interests”, students have broadened their focus to include “Books and characters”. This has coincided with education and reconciliation weeks which has provided a plethora of new concepts, materials and learning experiences for everyone. 

In structured shared reading sessions, students are working on exploring a range of new and engaging texts with a focus on English skills reading and viewing as well as speaking and listening. Students are responding very positively to a mix of group and 1.1 exercises.

As a class we are also continuing work on the independence and the life skills training program. With learning materials, students simulate the process of washing and drying clothes, preparing small meals and tending to a green garden space. Everyone is enjoying the practical and hands on nature of these experiences. 

We have also had SRC student nominations and leadership ceremony for 2026 graduating students and a big congratulations and shout out to Veyndhan Ponkathirvarathan who has been elected to the SRC and received his graduating 2026 student jumper along with his peers.
