Principal's Report

"Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be." – Rita Pierson

We have proudly celebrated Education Week, with this year's theme recognising the incredible work that happens every day in our schools to support children and young people to learn, grow and thrive.

Education Week always provides an opportunity to reflect on what makes our school so special. As Principal of Monash SDS, I am constantly reminded what a privilege it is to lead such an amazing school community. Every day I have the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated, caring and highly skilled team of staff who place the needs of our students at the centre of everything they do.

Whether it is supporting a student to communicate for the first time, celebrating a learning milestone, helping a student build independence, or simply ensuring every child feels safe, valued and successful, our staff consistently go above and beyond. Their commitment, passion and belief in every student's potential is what makes Monash SDS such a remarkable place.

I would also like to thank our families and carers for the partnership we share. Together, we create a community where our students are supported to achieve their best and develop the skills they need for life beyond school.

Parking and Car Park Safety Reminder

I would like to remind all parents and carers that parking is not permitted outside the Early Years area or anywhere within the staff car park. Parent and visitor parking is available in the top car park only

Additionally, for parents and carers who drive through the staff car park to collect their children from their vehicles, please remember that the 5 km/h speed limit remains in place at all times. Although the school day may have finished, there are still students attending our After School Care Program and children may be moving throughout the grounds.

The safety of our students, staff and community members must remain our highest priority. If speeding and unauthorised parking continue, we will have no option but to close access to the staff car park, requiring all parents and carers to park in the top car park and walk to collect their child.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep our school community safe.

Principal Leave

I will be taking leave for two weeks from Monday 1 June 2026 until Friday 12 June 2026. During my absence, Sandra Battisti will be Acting Principal and will be available to support students, families and staff.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our wonderful school community.
