🧣 2025 Vinnies Winter Appeal – “No One Chooses to Be Homeless”
What a few weeks of crazy weather it has been! As temperatures drop and rain rolls in, many of us have reached for another blanket or warm layer. But imagine if you didn’t have that option, if you were forced to sleep outside or didn’t even have an extra blanket to add to your bed.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
Jesus reminds us that when we care for those in need, we are caring for Him. This Winter Appeal is an invitation to be the heart and hands of Christ, to offer warmth, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.
As part of our ongoing commitment to justice and compassion, Caroline Chisholm College is proud to launch the 2025 Vinnies Winter Appeal in partnership with the St Vincent de Paul Society. This year’s theme, “No One Chooses to Be Homeless,” reminds us that homelessness is not a choice, it’s often the result of complex and unexpected life challenges.
Caroline Chisholm College SRC leaders and Faith in Action Team (FIAT) are leading this initiative, which will run next term.
Here’s what’s happening:
- Year 10 HSIE students will also be running their $20 Boss businesses, with all profits going to the Appeal.
- Week 1, Term 3 – Friday 25 July: CCC will host a Winter Woolies Day. Students are encouraged to wear their winter woolies over their school uniform and bring donations for those doing it tough this winter.
🧤 House Donation Guide – Please bring new items:
- Wright – Gloves
- MacKillop – Scarves
- Macarthur – Beanies
- Kenny – Socks
- Gilmore – Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, sanitary items, wipes, etc.)

🛍️ How to Prepare During the Holidays
We’re asking families to prepare over the break by purchasing one or more of the donation items ready to bring in for Winter Woolies Day on Friday of Week 1. Your contribution—big or small—makes a real difference.
Last year, our CCC community generously donated:
- 46 scarves
- 60 pairs of gloves
- 47 beanies
- 63 blankets
- 137 pairs of socks
Let’s see if we can go even further in 2025!
Thank you for your continued generosity. Together, we live out our faith in action.
