Cross Country State Championships

Josh C qualified to compete at the State Finals of Cross Country on Thursday 24 July at Yarra Glen Racecourse.

I competed in the SSV State Championship Cross Country last Thursday. We were lucky enough to have a sunny day although the track was a little wet from previous rain.

I was extremely excited for my race but also quite nervous. There were a total of 91 competitors in the boys Primary 12-13 age group and I was glad to have two of my football teammates there with me.

The start of the race was very intense because the group was so tight. The past winners of Region event got to start at the front of the pack so they had an advantage.

The race was very tough but I gave my best effort. Overall, I placed 25th which was an awesome achievement for me seeing I was hoping to get top 40.

Finally, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Ms Hocking and Mr Perini for always coming to watch me and support me. I really appreciate everything you have done for me over the years.

Josh C, Year 6

Josh should be extremely proud of his performance at the State Cross Country Championships. Placing 25th out of 91 competitors was an outstanding achievement! Congratulations Josh for proudly representing EHPS!
