What's On at DCS
Upcoming Events for Students and Families
At Devonport Christian School, our students are known, supported and encouraged to grow academically, spiritually and personally. We are committed to helping each young person discover their God-given gifts, build strong character and be equipped to thrive well beyond their school years.
With new places becoming available, we are now welcoming expressions of interest for Secondary enrolments in 2027, as well as Primary enrolments for Prep and Year 5/6 in 2027. We warmly invite families to come and experience the heart of DCS. School tours are now available. Please share and encourage your family and friends or those in your church to come and discover the difference at DCS.

Get ready for two of the most exciting events on our Library calendar: CBCA Book Week and our annual Book Fair!
Book Week will run from Monday 24th August to Friday 28th August and this year's theme is "Symphony of Stories", celebrating the magic of books and the wonderful stories that bring us together.
Our Book Fair runs throughout Book Week and is a fantastic way to support our Library. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, every Book Fair helps us add many new books to our collection for all students to enjoy.
Primary students will receive a Book Fair invitation and, during Library lessons, will create a wish list of books they'd love to own. Wish lists will then be sent home for families to review. Families are invited to look at the lists, decide which items, if any, they would like to purchase (please note there is no obligation to buy), and return completed wish lists to school (with payment) by Friday 4th September.
Books will be on display beside the Front Office throughout Book Week, and families are warmly invited to browse the collection. The Front Office is open from 8:00am to 4:00pm each school day. Payment options are: Online, EFTPOS or cash.
Please return all wish lists, whether purchasing or not, so we can ensure every child receives the correct order. If paying online, please make sure you use the Book Fair website, not the Book Club site.
Books will be ordered once all wish lists have been collected and are expected to arrive approximately three weeks later.
Our Book Week celebrations begin on Monday 24th August and will culminate in the Book Week Parade on Friday 28th August at 8:30am in the JILOA Centre.
Students are invited to dress as their favourite book character and bring along a copy of the book their character comes from (characters should be from books rather than movies).
Students from both Primary and Secondary are welcome to participate, and families are invited to come along and enjoy the parade.
The focus of the day is creativity, imagination and a love of reading. Whether costumes are homemade, parent-made, student-created or store-bought, every effort is celebrated!
Kinder Copas students will enjoy their own dress-up celebration with our Little Sprouts friends on Thursday 27th August at 8:30am.
We can't wait to see our school community bring this year's "Symphony of Stories" to life!
Each year, DCS Community provides students with the opportunity to purchase a gift for their father or a significant person in their life through the Father's Day Stall. This year, the event will be expanded into a Father's Day Expo, featuring a variety of stallholders offering a range of gifts and treats for students to purchase.
Items available will include:
BBQ aprons
Funky socks
Notebooks
Homemade biscuits
Rocky road
A selection of Father's Day gifts from the DCS Community stall
The Father’s Day Expo will be held on Friday 4 September outside the Jiloa Centre.
Most items will be priced at under $10.00, with a small number of larger items available at a higher price point.
Please note, that EFTPOS facilities will only be available at the DCS Community stall. Purchases from other stallholders will require cash.
Students in Kinder (Copas) to Year 2 will have an opportunity to purchase gifts on Thursday 3 September at 9:00am.
Further information regarding purchasing arrangements will be communicated closer to the event.
