SMCM Colour Run! 2 weeks to go!
With only 2 weeks to go until our Colour Run, we are getting very excited to slime teachers and win great prizes!
To participate, students are invited to raise a minimum of $10 each - this will cover their entry fee, sunglasses, sweat bands and a prize of their choice!
Please ensure you have set up your child's online profile at www.myprofilepage.com.au so we can track donations and ensure we know which student has raised the most money and gets to slime Claire!
We are also looking for parent volunteers for the Colour Run as well - volunteers need a valid Working With Children Check, will be required to sign in at reception and wear a lanyard identifying them as being allowed to be in the Colour Run area.

Celebrating Book Week & Bookflix
What a wonderful celebration of reading we have enjoyed at SMCM!
Book Week 2026 – A Symphony of Stories brought our school community together through author visits, special read alouds, classroom activities and, of course, our much-loved Book Week Parade. It was fantastic to see students and staff embracing the week with such enthusiasm and creativity.
A sincere thank you to our families for the time and effort that went into costumes and supporting the celebrations, and to our staff for helping make the week such a memorable one for our students.
Bookflix – Keep Reading!
The enthusiasm for our Bookflix Reading Challenge has been fantastic to see. Students across the school have been reading, completing challenges and sharing recommendations, creating plenty of excitement and conversation around books.
Our goal is to collect 400 student book recommendations, and our growing Bookflix Review Wall is well on its way! Families are invited to check it out next to the Library and see what our students have been reading and recommending.
Bookflix continues until the end of Week 10, so there is still time to read, review and enter. Our final prize draw will take place on Monday of week 10, at our Whole School Gathering. A huge thanks to Scholastic for donating books for some of our prizes.
Most importantly, we hope the enthusiasm generated through Book Week and Bookflix continues beyond the challenge, encouraging our students to discover new books, share their favourites and continue building a lifelong love of reading.
