Year 4 Excursion to Healesville Sanctuary
On Monday, our Year 4 students embarked on an exciting excursion to Healesville Sanctuary, eager to discover more about wetlands and the important role they play in supporting Australian wildlife.
A highlight of the day was participating in the Wetlands Discovery program. Students learnt about the wildlife that lives in wetlands and became water detectives, examining waterbugs to help identify the health of a wetland. They also explored some of the threats that can impact wetland environments and the importance of protecting these valuable habitats.
Another memorable experience was the Spirits of the Sky show, where students were captivated by the flight of birds of prey and parrots. They discovered more about the incredible abilities of these birds and the important role they play in the ecosystem.
We had a wonderful day together, enjoying the beautiful weather and making valuable connections to our learning at school.

Year 6 Camp to Campaspe Downs
Last week, our Year 6 students headed off to Campaspe Downs for three action-packed days of adventure, teamwork and making wonderful memories together!
Located just over an hour from school, Campaspe Downs provided the perfect setting for our students to challenge themselves, try new experiences and work together as a team. Across the three days, students participated in an exciting range of activities including the Giant Swing, Laser Tag, Archery, Climbing, Abseiling, Aeroball, Canoeing and a variety of team challenges.
One of the highlights of camp was seeing our students encourage and support one another throughout the activities. Students shared fantastic words of encouragement, celebrated each other's achievements and showed resilience when they were faced with something outside of their comfort zone. It was wonderful to see students cheering their classmates on and helping one another succeed.
The fun continued on the second night with a Year 6 Camp Disco! Students danced, sang loudly and enjoyed a night of music and laughter. The evening even included a very competitive game of musical chairs! Students followed the rules, participated enthusiastically and embraced the opportunity to celebrate together.
We were also incredibly proud of the students' independence and responsibility throughout the camp. After each meal, students worked together to clean up and leave the dining areas tidy, showing respect for the shared spaces and taking responsibility for their environment.
It was wonderful to see our Year 6 students step outside their comfort zones, support their peers, take on new challenges and enjoy spending time together as a year level. They created some very special memories and should be incredibly proud of the way they represented our school.
Volleyball Gala Day
On Tuesday 1st September, our A and B teams went to Marymede Doreen and South Morang campuses to compete in a Volleyball Gala Day. The day was filled with excitement, joy, teamwork and best of all, friendship.
We all competed in fair, enjoyable and thrilling rounds of volleyball. Even when points didn’t go our way and we thought we were going to lose the game we persevered and always tried to think positively. The day was one to never forget.
Congratulations to our B girls team who finished second overall. We would like to thank Lisa P and Melissa for making this volleyball tournament possible in the first place. We would also like to thank all the other teachers, umpires and students who attended this volleyball tournament.
Overall, the environment of the day was positive, no matter what happened. We, the A and B teams, really appreciate the opportunity to participate in a sports event like this one.

Golden Children
STEM
Congratulations Adam (Year 1- Peppercorn) and Marchella (Year 2 - Redding) who both earned their Golden Child Award recently.
It was a very impressive achievement, as Adam was not taught Stem in Term 1 or in Term 2, and by the time he was being taught Stem in Term 3, he had nearly already attained all Masters required to earn the title of Golden Child. He demonstrated amazing perseverance and it was a pleasure to witness him recite facts about many areas of learning at such a young age.
Marchella did something I have never witnessed before to become a Golden Child. She had earned all 9 Masters and needed to work through reciting her Periodic Table. When she approached me to do this, instead of starting with 25, then moving on to 50, 75 and then to 118, she recited the whole 118 in her first attempt!
Marchella, like Adam, has earned the title of Golden Child for the first time. Well done.
To earn the title of Golden Child, students share facts about the following 10 Masters: Planets, Solar System, Mouth, Bones, Rainbows, Thunder & Lightning, Towers, Birds, Clouds and all 118 elements of the Periodic Table.
