What a start toTerm 3!

It has been an extraordinarily busy and inspiring time across our school community, filled with rich learning experiences and memorable events. From celebrating how far our youngest learners have come during our '100 Days Smarter' milestone, with some sentational costumes and amazing props!

We honoured our First Nations culture and history during our NAIDOC celebrations with a special visit from Kerrie Saunders and thank Mrs Whalan for organsing such a meaningful and memorable day. Read Mrs Whalans recap of the day and more photos.

A huge shout our to our team and their families who attended Diocesan Athletics in Tamworth last Wednesday. The students competed across individual track and field events as well as the small schools relay. Isaac, Eylah, Elijah and Levi will now represent our school and the Armidale Diocese at Polding in Glendale on 11 September in the relay! What a stellar achievement - go team!

Our students have been actively engaged in meaningful and new learning experiences. We were thrilled to visit the Roxy Theatre in Bingara to participate in 'Spike the Echidna'. This was a great showcase of puppetry and gave students an insight into some wonders in the performing arts scene!

Welcoming the University of New England Discovery Voyager team for an exciting, hands-on science experience was another highlight of our week. As a proud rural school, we actively seek out and embrace these unique opportunities to ensure our students have equal access to experiences that foster critical and creative thinking skills, paving the way for a bright and hope-filled future.

A Warm Welcome to our 2027 Kindergarten Students 🧸

Starting school is a momentous milestone, and thanks to the wonderful Transition to School program created by Miss Cook, our newest learners and their families are being warmly supported every step of the way every Thursday. We have already shared some delightful moments together, from the joy of our Teddy Bears Picnic and our very first Kindergarten Transition morning with a fun theme from the Mem Fox classic - Where's the Green Sheep.

We had an engaging and informative evening for families. Building on this fantastic start, I am delighted that next week we will officially commence our Kindergarten 2027 enrolment meetings and begin to offer places for 2027, taking the next exciting step in welcoming our future students into our vibrant school community.

Transition to Kindergarten: Welcoming Our Newest Learners

Transition Sessions: We commence our transition visits on Thursday mornings. These sessions are a wonderful opportunity for the children to familiarise themselves with the classrooms, meet their future peers, and get a taste of school life.

Information Evenings: To support our families through this exciting journey, we will be hosting an additional Information Evening:

  • Monday, 24 August

These evenings are designed to provide valuable insights into our school curriculum, and routines. We welcome new and existing families to attend.

I will be attending the Armidale Catholic Schools Principal Conference for the next few days where I look forward to connecting and collaborating with other Principals from the Armidale Diocese.

Please be sure to visit our school assembly on Friday afternoon at 2:30 pm in the school hall.

Thank you all for your ongoing support and partnership.

Warm regards,

Jacqui Wait
