Teaching and Learning Update

Implementation Support Day with Brydon O’Neill-Guy

We were pleased to welcome Brydon O’Neill-Guy back to our school today for a Implementation Support Day, following on from our highly valuable Curriculum Day held in February. This visit marks the first in a series of five sessions that form part of an exciting year-long partnership focused on strengthening teaching and learning across our school.

Throughout the day, Brydon worked closely with our Learning Specialists to conduct learning walks in Years 3–6 learning spaces. These visits provided an opportunity to observe teacher practice, with a particular focus on the implementation of Daily Reviews in Mathematics. It was encouraging to see the consistency and purpose with which these routines are being embedded across learning spaces.

A highlight of the day was a modelled lesson delivered by Brydon with some Year 3/4 students. This provided a practical example of effective strategies in action, further supporting teachers to refine their own practice.

It was evident that many of the strategies introduced during our Curriculum Day have already been successfully put into action. Teachers are continuing to develop their approach to Daily Reviews, and we are seeing positive momentum as these practices become more established.

We look forward to welcoming Brydon back at the end of May, where the focus will shift to supporting implementation within our Foundation to Year 2 learning spaces.
