From the Principal

Welcome back to Term 2. It has been a very busy start with many positive highlights to share with you.

I would like to commend our student leaders for proudly representing our school at the ANZAC Commemorative Service held at the Town Hall Memorial Gardens on Sunday 19th April. They conducted themselves with maturity, respect, and pride, honouring the significance of the occasion by laying a wreath during the ceremony. In addition, our student leaders led a whole-school assembly last Friday to acknowledge ANZAC Day. They spoke thoughtfully about its importance and guided the school community through a moving one-minute silence. We are very proud of the leadership and respect they demonstrated.

Over the school holidays, you may have noticed several exciting improvements to our school environment. Beautiful new school signage and totem poles reflecting our school values have been installed, along with engaging playground art for students to enjoy. We have also completed upgrades including new shade sails and refurbishments in the Kindergarten, Foundation learning spaces, and Allied Health Therapy Rooms. We are very fortunate to have such welcoming and well-resourced facilities. It is important that we all take pride in our environment and work together to care for these spaces.

On the first day of Term 2, we were delighted to welcome volunteers from Sages Cottage to assist with work on our school farm. Their enthusiasm, positive attitude and hard work have already made a meaningful contribution. We greatly appreciate their support and look forward to continuing this partnership. They will be working in our school farm and school garden every Monday in Term 2.

A reminder that our Mother’s Day Assembly and Morning Tea will be held next Friday, 8th May, in the school hall. We invite all mothers and special carers to join us as we celebrate the important role you play in the lives of our students and our school community. It is always a special occasion, and we hope to see many of you there. Please refer to page 5 of this newsletter for further details.

School Photo Day is scheduled for Wednesday, 13th May. Please ensure students come to school in full uniform and looking their best. All photo orders will be managed online this year—please refer to the Sentral parent notice and page 6 of this newsletter for instructions on how to place your order. If you require any assistance, please contact the school office.

We are excited to welcome the following new staff members to our school community:

Savannah Ah Tani, who joins us as a Teacher Aide in the Year 1/2 Learning Space.

Fen Esaq, who joins us as a Teacher Aide in the Year 3/4 Learning Space.

We are thrilled to have them on board and look forward to the positive impact they will make – welcome to the ARPS team!

Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to another great term ahead.
