Schools are invited to send students of a proficient skill level to the ACS Primary Sport Cross Country Carnival in Barraba on Friday 22nd of May, 2026. Parents of students who have been selected will receive a notification on COMPASS today. Please ensure this event is accepted or declined by the end of this week (Friday 15th May) so I can ensure our team list is accurate. It is the responsibility of parents to get students to and from this event (I am sure some parents are open to carpooling if necessary). I will be attending the carnival as the supervising teacher for the event.
From this event, a Diocesan team will be chosen to represent the Armidale Diocese at the NSWCPS Cross Country at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, Horsley Park on Wednesday 24th of June, 2026.
Event Date: Friday 22nd of May, 2026.Event Venue: The trials will be held at the Barraba Sports Ground (Rugby grounds), 175 Trevallyn Road Barraba.
Event Start Time: The carnival will commence at 9.30am sharp with a meeting of team managers followed by a meeting of officials. Walking the course will start at 10.00am.
Timeline: 2026 Cross Country Timetable
Event Finish Time: Approximately 2:00pm
Cost: All individuals must pay an $10 ACS Primary Sport levy to participate. Paid on COMPASS.
Uniform: Students are to wear only their School Representative sports uniform for the trials. Students are not to wear any other representative uniforms. eg: Diocesan, Polding, PSSA, etc. Students are advised to bring sunscreen and hats to wear at the trials. Please remember to bring adequate water for the day.
Catering at venue: A full canteen and BBQ will be available on the day from the St Joseph’s Barraba P & F.
Sport weeks 7-10 - will be athletics training as a whole school over at Golland Fields. More information to follow soon.
2026 Athletics Carnival - our annual athletics carnival will be held on Friday 26th June (Week 10) at Golland Fields Quirindi.
Term 2 - Sport uniform will be Wednesdays and Fridays
