A Message from the Principal
Mrs Amanda Sheridan
I hope all of the mothers, grandmothers, aunts and significant women in our community celebrated a wonderful Mothers Day on Sunday.
We had a fantastic day on Friday sharing a liturgy and fun activities with our wider school family. From glitter covered handbags, to painted nails and beanbag toss it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces.
Thank you to the parents and carers for judging the art show, please see the general news page for the announcement of winners.

Recently our year 3 and 5 students completed NAPLAN (National Assessment Program-Literacy and Numeracy). Initial results show strong achievement for our students. Staff will now triangulate data from NAPLAN, PAT (Progressive Assessment Test) assessments and in class assessments to review current learning goals and set challenging goals in consultation with students.
NAIDOC Celebrations
This year NAIDOC Week falls in the winter holiday break so we will recognise NAIDOC DAY on Friday 3rd July at 11.30am

Grandparents Day
Grandparents Day is always a much loved celebration at St Joseph's School. We will recognise the Feast of St Joachim and St Anne, the parents of Mother Mary on Friday 24th July so be sure to let grandparents and special friends know to save the date.

You may note that many of our celebrations occur on a Friday and this is due to a number of factors. Scheduling school celebrations on a Friday is a strategic move to protect the integrity of coreacademic blocks. By concentrating intensive, uninterrupted sessions for English, Mathematics, and Religion into the first four days of the week, the school ensures that students engage with complex curriculum material when their cognitive energy and focus are typically at their peak. Many of our celebrations also coincide with religious feast days or others days celebrated on the secular calendar. If your are unable to attend these celebrations please be assured that your children will be well supported by staff.
Enjoy your week, and as always, reach out if I can be of assistance.
Amanda
