Snapshots from the week

OPEN DAY 2026
What a fantastic Open Day at Balmoral State High School!
A big thank you to our incredible teachers, staff, students and families whose efforts made the day such a success. From interactive stalls like VR welding, Science and Mathematics, to the fun of the bungee run, shooting stars, football and netball — the energy across the school was amazing.
It was also wonderful to see such a strong turnout for the Principal’s speeches.
Thank you again to everyone who joined us — we can’t wait to welcome you to the Balmoral community!
Elite Hip Hop Training
Last week marked the exciting start of our Elite Hip Hop Training program!
Earlier this year, students auditioned to be part of this new before-school group, where they’ll develop their skills across a range of hip hop styles and performance techniques. We’re incredibly lucky to have Miya Quarrell (from Bulimba) volunteering her time to mentor our students.
Originally from Jersey (Channel Islands), Miya has been competing in hip hop since the age of 5, performing and competing across Germany, UK, Paris, Queensland, and Sydney.
We’re so grateful for the passion, experience, and guidance Miya is bringing to Balmoral, and we can’t wait to see what our students achieve this year.
If you are interested in joining the group, please email Ms Hansford for more information.
