Message from the Deputies

Our recent Open Day was a wonderful celebration of everything that makes Balmoral State High School such a special place to learn and grow. It was fantastic to welcome so many prospective families onto our campus and to see our school come alive with energy, curiosity, and pride.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore our classrooms, engage with interactive displays, and speak directly with our passionate staff and students. From Aerospace and Science demonstrations to student performances and galleries of both ‘Blasts from the Past’ and some questionable looking staff mug shots, the day showcased not only the breadth of opportunities we offer, but also the strong sense of community that underpins our school. I would like to sincerely thank our staff and student ambassadors, whose enthusiasm and professionalism ensured the day was such a success. The positive feedback from families is a testament to the culture we are building together.

Looking ahead, our Year 7 students are eagerly anticipating their upcoming camp at Emu Gully next week — an important milestone in their transition to high school. This experience is designed to strengthen connections, build resilience, and foster a sense of belonging among our newest cohort. Through a range of outdoor activities and team challenges, students will develop confidence, collaboration skills, and lasting friendships. We know that strong relationships are the foundation of a successful high school journey, and the Year 7 camp plays a vital role in establishing these early. We look forward to seeing our students step outside their comfort zones, support one another, and return with a deeper connection to their peers and to Balmoral SHS.

Thank you to our families for your ongoing support—we are proud to partner with you in providing such rich and meaningful opportunities for our students.
