Next Weeks Behaviour Spotlight
This week, our behaviour spotlight is on being quiet, focused, and fully engaged during school assemblies. An assembly doesn’t always have to happen in the hall, it can take place before school, after snack or lunch, or even right inside the classroom. We should listen carefully, and show respect to whoever is speaking. When we are in an assembly, it’s important that we show our best behaviour, that means keeping eye contact with the teacher, and sitting still. It also means not talking to our friends, even if we’re excited or sitting next to someone we know well. Most importantly, we should remember that the younger students are always watching us. By staying calm, and respectful, we become positive role models for them. Showing leadership through our behaviour helps create a school environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and ready to learn.
Thank you, have a great weekend

Congratulations to our
Behaviour Spotlight winners this week.
Word of the week - Resilience
Resilience is the ability to keep going, even when things are challenging or don’t go as planned. It’s about bouncing back and trying again.
In the classroom:Students show resilience when they keep practising a tricky task, learn from mistakes, and don’t give up.
How families can support at home:
- Encourage your child to try again after making a mistake
- Praise effort, not just success (“You worked really hard on that!”)
- Share stories about times you had to persevere
- Remind children that learning new things takes time and practice
Help them talk through challenges and possible solutions
Try this together:This week, set a small goal as a family (e.g. finishing a puzzle or learning a new skill) and celebrate sticking with it!
Why did the baby koala hang onto the tree all day?
Because it didn’t want to leaf its mum.
