Sports Update

WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY OF ATHLETICS!

Written by: Lenny N & Isabel S-O (our 2024 Year 6 Andrew Lesniewski Award recipients)

We were all so excited to attend our first whole school sporting event for the year last Friday at GR Bricker Reserve, Moorabbin.  The day began with our St. Finbar’s Athletics prayer and then each house proudly belted out their new 2024 House chants!  Wow - they really fired everyone up!  Over the day, the senior students participated in lots of track and field events, whilst the juniors had fun doing events such as hurdles, sprints and long jump as well as some tabloid events.   It was amazing to see everyone trying their best and encouraging each other.

A BIG THANK YOU goes to all of the amazing parent helpers, SEDA basketball students, De La Salle students and all of our St. Finbars volunteers and staff for helping run this phenomenal carnival.  It was so great to see everyone trying their best and enjoying cheering their own House on.

Congratulations goes to all NAGLE HOUSE MEMBERS for achieving the most points on the day and being titled the Athletics carnival winning House! We’d also like to acknowledge our two Year 6 Andrew Lesniewski Award recipients this year - Isabel S-O and Lenny N.  Both of these students consistently displayed the true spirit of Andrew over the day; consistently supporting all their peers, cheering on their House team members, offering support if seen to be needed and using beautiful manners.  Well done Lenny & Isabel!
