Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that we are already at the end of our first term; it seems like yesterday that we welcomed everyone back to St Finbar's for the beginning of a new school year.

There are some staffing changes happening next term.  We farewell Jemima Christie who is preparing for the birth of her second baby; we look forward to some exciting baby news shortly. In Term 2 we will welcome Miss Niamh Lennon who will take over 1J for the rest of the year.   We also say a temporary farewell to Annalisa Gourley who is heading home to Ireland for a term, Mrs Bernice Donato and Lena Sirianni will teach 3G in Term 2.

Sadly, we say goodbye to a few students today. Good luck to Amy from Year 5 who is moving on to St Michael's Grammar. We also say goodbye to Kieran (Yr 2) and Alana (Prep) who are relocating to Geelong.  We wish the Wilson and Fraher families well for the future.

Happy Easter to you all. As we enter the most significant week in our church's year, Holy Week, we hope you can find some time this weekend to reflect on the significance and meaning of Easter. From the Last Supper on Holy Thursday to the solemnity of Good Friday and the joy of Easter Sunday, may this week fill our hearts with peace and gratitude.

P & F Thank you

Our P & F have had a busy few weeks with multiple events taking place. Thank you to the Year 5 reps who organised a fun Bogan Bingo evening last Saturday. It was a very entertaining night with a lot of flannelette shirts to be seen.

Our Colour Run  was a great way to finish the term today; the children looked to be having so much fun as they ran around the track being sprayed with colour from all directions. Thank you to all parents who were involved in today's Colour Run, but especially to the Prep Reps who coordinated today. Please see the extensive gallery of photos below which portray just how much fun everyone had.

Preparations are now under way for the Mother's Day lunch, which is being organised by our Year 1 Reps. And finally, thank you to all parents who contributed to yesterday's staff morning tea - it was very much appreciated.

Thank you as always to our P & F President Kate, who has been involved in all these events. We are so lucky to have such an active parent group who manage to organise these events for our community, whilst juggling their own work and family commitments.

Thank you

Thank you to Nikki Connolly (Year 6 mum) who has once again taken some beautiful photos of life at St Finbar's. Nikki's photos will regularly appear in our newsletter throughout the year.

Have a wonderful Easter,

Michelle Hill,

Acting Principal
