CGPS Chess Team Continues Its Winning Streak!

 

It was another exciting week for the Carlton Gardens Primary School Chess Team, with students competing in two inter-school tournaments and delivering outstanding results.

 

On 2 June, CGPS competed in the Primary Open Zonal tournament at Ivanhoe Grammar School. Facing strong opposition from schools across Melbourne, our players performed brilliantly, earning two Gold medals, one Bronze medal, and the prestigious Zonal School Champion trophy.

 

The success continued on 3 June at the Junior Primary Zonal tournament hosted by Our Lady of Good Counsel. Our younger players rose to the challenge, securing the Zonal School Champion trophy, the Star of the Tournament award, and two Gold medals, with an additional Prep Gold award also going to a CGPS student.

These achievements reflect the dedication, teamwork, and resilience shown by our students throughout the season. Whether competing for medals, contributing valuable team points, or supporting one another throughout the day, every player played an important role in these incredible results.

 

Congratulations to all of our chess players for representing CGPS with such skill, determination, and sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings!
