A reminder to all families to take note of our attendance protocols, located in our Families Guide.

Absence from the College

If your child will be late to school or absent, please notify the College Office by 8.35am either via phone (03 6245 0099), via email on absentees@mackillop.tas.edu.au, or through the Absentee Form on the College website.

Anticipated absence during the day

Parents/caregivers of students who are required to leave school during the day must provide written notice via absentees@mackillop.tas.edu.au. College Office staff will confirm verbally with parents/caregivers via phone, and email the student’s Pastoral Care Teacher and House Leader to ensure they are notified. When it is time to leave, students should inform their classroom teacher, present to the College Office and sign out.

Unanticipated absences during the day

If a student becomes unwell or injured during the day they should go to the College Office where designated staff are located who are trained in First Aid and have access to First Aid equipment. Staff will contact the parent/caregiver as and when necessary.

If a student needs to be collected during the day for any other unplanned reason please contact the College Office who will communicate with relevant staff and students. Please be aware staff are unable to call students down to the College Office during class time (except in the case of an emergency).
