The Way to St James Cygnet
Looking for something exciting to do in the School Holidays?
Inspired by the famous Spanish El Camino of St James, come and enjoy a two-day pilgrim walk right here in Tasmania. The walk will take you through the scenic and peaceful Huon Valley to a celebration at the Spanish mission styled Church of St James, nestled in the heart of Cygnet.
This little Tassie Pilgrimage has been gaining recognition over the last few years, and tickets are limited. In 2025 the Pilgrimage commences on Saturday 11th January 2025 at 9.00am from the Mountain River Community Hall. Finishing on Sunday 12th January 2025 at approx. 4.30pm St James Church, Cygnet. The route covers private properties and rural roads in southern Tasmania and is best described as needing a medium level of fitness. Pilgrims must be a minimum age of 10.
Through fellowship, reflection, rejoicing and ritual the pilgrimage offers many opportunities to reconnect with the spiritual dimensions of your life.
