Library
What an exciting week it has been in the library!
Thank you for your support with our Scholastic Book Fair last week, we sold just over $2000 worth of books and as a reward, we received over $600 worth of free books for our library! A wonderful contribution to our library collection. A special thank you to those families who gave a donation towards other books on our wish list, it has been gratefully received. Happy reading to all those who purchased books!
We enjoyed a fun parade yesterday celebrating our favourite stories by dressing up as a character. There were animals, sport stars, mythical creatures, superheroes, villains, and children from a variety of story genres. Congratulations to our award winners for the best homemade costume, most realistic, most creative, best hairstyle, best duo and teacher choice.
Thank you to Miss Emily for organising the Parade and Book Fair.
The fun continued today with our Book Week Bonanza Day. Students listened to 4 of the shortlisted stories and created pieces of art. Don't forget to ask them which story they enjoyed the most!
We also had a visit from an up-and-coming author who also happens to be our very own Jen Coles. She showed us some illustrations from her story and explained the writing and publishing process. Thanks Jen and we wish you all the very best with your book launch.
On Friday we welcome new author Ross Curnow who will also tell the Year 4-6s all about how his novel, 'Oscar vs The Grand Old Dude of York' came into being. He will have copies of his book for sale ($17 each, cash only please) and is happy to sign them for all those who buy one.
The Preps to 3 will enjoy a production at Wheelers Hill Library to celebrate Book Week.
WHAT A WEEK!
