Principal's Update
What a fabulous week!
We have had great fun with Book Week! We started with the very successful Book Fair and then the Book Week Parade. There were so many fantastic costumes and outfits - we recognised lots of the books! Miss Emily did a fantastic job co-ordinating all these Book Week events - so thank you!
On Wednesday we had our Book Week Bonanza! - students were divided into cross age groups and each group had their teacher read a story and then there were activities to go with the book.
I had 4 groups throughout the morning and we read Bob Graham's "The Concrete Garden", then we went out to our concrete and the students created amazing works of art in chalk on our concrete pathways - there was even a birthday cake and fireworks for me!
How lucky am I?
AUTHOR VISIT:
After lunch we had a visit from our very own Jen Coles who is about to become a published author!
We heard all about the process Jen has had to work through and we were lucky enough to see some of the gorgeous illustrations hot off the press!
The students were able to ask some great questions.
Jen has promised that as soon as the first book is published she will come and do a signing at school!
Many thanks to Mandy Dennehy for putting together the Book Week Bonanza today.
Did you know we're on Facebook?
How often does your child come home and say they did "nothing" at school throughout the day - only to have had a fun birthday party with Milo the Monkey or they planted some trees in our Stephanie Alexander garden?!
We are constantly updating our Facebook community with photos of all the exciting things happening around our school and would love your support to grow our page.

SCHOOL CARPARK SAFETY:
With Safety Week having just finished, now is a timely reminder to all parents and children about safety at drop off and pick up times. It is concerning to see some students and parents enter the school via the vehicle gates on Columbia Drive and walk through the staff carpark.
If dropping off or picking up your child on Columbia Drive, please ensure that they are entering via the main front gate or the pedestrian gate across from the Multi Purpose building.
Thanks for your help in keeping our school community safe!
Have a great week.
PS: My costume is from the book "Giraffes Can't Dance" - one of my favourites.
