Years 3 & 4

Grade 3/4 Learning Update

Welcome to Term 3! Our Grade 3/4 students have settled back into classroom routines and are beginning another exciting term of learning.

In Mathematics, students are developing their multiplicative thinking through skip counting, repeated addition and early multiplication strategies. Throughout the term, they will also explore area, perimeter, capacity and mapping skills through hands-on learning experiences. In Reading and Writing, students will continue to build their comprehension, vocabulary and writing skills through daily reading, word study and explicit literacy lessons.

This term’s Discovery and Health learning focuses on Growing Up, where students will explore how people grow and change physically, socially and emotionally. Through age-appropriate discussions and activities, students will learn about identity, resilience, respectful relationships and strategies to support their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others.

A reminder that Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, the 29th of July. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to celebrate your child’s progress and discuss goals for the semester ahead.

We are also looking forward to our Swimming Program, which begins in Week 5. More information about session times and what students need to bring will be shared with families in the coming weeks.

We look forward to another term of learning, growth and working together with our Grade 3/4 families.
