Cultural Groups
At St Nicholas, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students take part in Cultural Immersion lessons led by the Aboriginal Education Assistants. Every fortnight, they explore a new topic that celebrates Aboriginal culture, history, and traditions, strengthening their knowledge, identity, and connection to Country.
Our cultural plans are almost complete! This week, we have sent home an “All About Me – Cultural Plan” questionnaire for our infant students. This will help us gain a better understanding of your child’s cultural background and family.
We would love for families to complete the questionnaire and share any information that will help us acknowledge and include your child’s culture within our learning and everyday experiences.
For your convenience, we have also included a Google Form below if you would prefer to complete the questionnaire online.
Student Spotlight
Each fortnight, we love highlighting the achievements of our Cultural Group students, both in and out of school. If your child has accomplished something they are proud of and would like to share, we would love to hear about it! Whether it’s a sporting achievement, academic success, creative accomplishment, community contribution, or something personal they have worked hard to achieve, please send it through to us. We look forward to celebrating and showcasing the wonderful efforts and achievements of our Cultural Group students!
A huge congratulations to Adelaide B on being selected for the 2027 Tamworth Junior Thunderbolts Representative Squad.
We’re incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication.
Exciting Opportunities Ahead in Term 4!
We’ve got a busy and exciting Term 4 ahead for the St Nicholas Cultural Groups!
With Presentation Night fast approaching, there will be some exciting opportunities for our students to get involved and showcase their learning and cultural talents.
We’re also looking forward to welcoming everyone back to our regular cultural groups, lessons and activities. It’s going to be another great term of learning about, celebrating and enjoying our culture together.
Wishing all our families a safe and happy holiday. Enjoy the rest, and see you next term.
