ACS GALA DAY - NETBALL & SOCCER FUN
A big thank you to the many parents who volunteered to coach and the high school students who volunteered to umpire/ referee games. Without you, awesome days like these simply cannot happen.
At Soccer St Nicholas fielded 5 Opens teams and 5 Junior teams consisting of girls, boys and mixed teams. At the netball, 4 teams of Junior girls, 2 teams of girls Opens and 2 teams of mixed Opens took to the courts. Results to come!!!
POLDING ATHLETICS- GLENDALE
Congratulations to all our St Nicholas athletes who travelled to Glendale on 11 September to represent the Armidale Catholic Schools Athletics team at the Polding Athletics trials! Everyone gave it their all and left nothing to chance!!
WINTER NETBALL 2026
Two of our St Nicholas Netball teams played in the Grand Finals on Saturday 19 September. Congratulations to the Year 5 Fever in 11/12B who won 29 points to 22 over the Carinya Playpuses. Great coaching by Leanne Cannon (supported by Kel Newsome)!
Unfortunately, the Year 5 Thunderbirds in 11/12C lost in a nail-biting double-extra-time game. One of the teams had to be up by 2 points to win. These girls gave it their all, and they were loudly supported by Year 5 Fever in the extra time period. Jess Jones had nerves of steel and supported her team beautifully. What an achievement to be in a Grand Final Game! It does not happen often! Special mention to Mrs Martin, who was also in a netball opens Grand Final! Although the team was undefeated all year, unfortunately her team went down against a Swans team.
In the end, netball, physios and ligament tape producers were the real winners on the day!
Presentation Afternoon will be held at school on Friday 30th October from 3:30pm, followed by our AGM in Year 6 for the interested parties. More details to follow via Compass.
Constellation Cup possible mop woman,
Emma Elliott.
