Welcome Back to Term 4! ☀️
It has been wonderful to welcome all our students back to school after the holidays! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful break and some quality time with family and friends. It has been great to see the students settling back into their routines and reconnecting with their teachers and peers.
As we head into the warmer months, we would like to remind families about sun protection and managing hay fever during spring.
☀️ SunSmart – Staying Safe in the Sun
Our SunSmart policy applies whenever UV levels reach 3 or above.
We encourage families to:
- Check the daily UV levels using the SunSmart website or SunSmart app.
- Ensure your child brings a SunSmart hat to school each day. Broad-brimmed, bucket and legionnaire hats are suitable. Baseball caps are not considered SunSmart.
- Dress your child in sun-protective clothing, including tops that cover the shoulders and longer shorts, dresses or skirts.
- Apply SPF 50 or 50+ sunscreen before school, particularly when UV levels are 3 or above.
- Provide sunscreen if required, particularly if your child has sensitive skin or needs a specific product.
🌸 Hay Fever Season
Spring also brings an increase in pollen levels, which can cause hay fever symptoms for some students.
If your child has been diagnosed with hay fever by a medical practitioner and requires medication to manage their symptoms, please inform their classroom teacher or Sub-School Leader.
Medication at School
If your child requires medication during school hours, we require:
A JSA Medication Authority Form signed by the parent/guardian and the prescribing health practitioner, including an expiry and review date.
Prescribed and dispensed medication in its original packaging, with a current pharmacy label and expiry date, to be stored at school.
Please ensure the school is informed of any changes to your child's medication or health needs so that we can provide appropriate support.
Thank you to all our families for your ongoing support. We look forward to a positive and enjoyable final term, filled with learning, growth and opportunities for our students to celebrate their achievements!
ROOM 7
Room 7 has had a great start of the term. Students were actively engaging with the learning program. They all had a smooth transition to school after having two weeks break. Apart from this, they have also really enjoyed their time at the library, climbing gym and the OT room.
